Spring 08

As of July 20, 2008, both the pool redesign and walking track were included in the contract documents, so both will be built. Other items were cut out of the contract documents but are listed as add/alternates and will be included in the recreation center as funding is made available through grants, individual donations and lower contingency costs.

The FVMRD has begun construction on a new 48,000 square foot Recreation Center that will allow the FVMRD to consolidate its classes, expand programming and provide a central gathering place for the community.
The New Facility will include:
  • An aquatics center, complete with 4 lane lap pool with deep end & diving board, leisure pool, hot tub/spa, lazy river, water slide and play structure.
  • A large MAC gymnasium – Half of if designated for gymnastics and the other half is a 50’x74’ court
  • A community activity room for classes and meetings
  • A Fitness Center that will included cardio, circuit and strength machines and a separate aerobics/dance- studio
The Recreation Center is scheduled for completion in December 2009.  It has been designed as a multi-use facility to accommodate a wide variety of leisure programs and community based activities.  This Center will offer youth through seniors fitness and cultural opportunities.  The Center will also provide meeting space for community functions and special events.
